VIPER SELANK LYOPHILISED POWDER

Available sizes: 5 mg, 10 mg

A stabilised tuftsin analogue

Selank is Thr-Lys-Pro-Arg-Pro-Gly-Pro — the tuftsin sequence with a Pro-Gly-Pro extension. Tuftsin itself is a fragment of the IgG heavy chain with immunomodulatory activity; the extension serves the same purpose as in Semax, protecting the peptide from rapid degradation.

The immunological ancestry is not incidental. Part of the Selank literature concerns immune signalling rather than anxiety, and interleukin-6 expression is a recurring measured endpoint.

Research areas

  • Anxiety models in rodents, the primary research focus

  • GABAergic signalling, the most frequently proposed mechanism

  • Enkephalin degradation, which Selank is reported to inhibit — a route to endogenous opioid signalling without an opioid

  • Interleukin-6 and immune gene expression, inherited from tuftsin

  • BDNF expression, the shared thread with Semax

Read alongside

Semax is the direct sibling compound and shares its evidential caveats — Russian registration, limited independent replication. Oxytocin is the other anxiety-relevant peptide in this catalogue, acting through an unrelated system.

Documentation and verification

Certificates of Analysis are published for tested products and batches. A certificate is a batch-specific record: it reports what was measured, by which method, on a stated date, against a batch identifier. It is evidence about the sample analysed at the time of analysis, and it is silent on attributes it does not list and on what has happened to the material since.

The batch number is the field that connects the document to a physical vial. Where the identifier on a vial does not appear on a certificate, the certificate does not describe that vial, however thorough the analysis behind it was. Batch records can be searched directly, and the guides below explain what each field establishes and what it does not.
