Adipotide

Available sizes: 2 mg, 5 mg
Adipotide is built from two functional halves. The first binds prohibitin, a protein found on the endothelial surface of vessels supplying white adipose tissue. The second is a pro-apoptotic sequence that disrupts mitochondrial membranes and triggers cell death.
Joined together, the construct delivers a cytotoxic payload selectively to one vascular bed. The design comes straight from tumour vasculature targeting, and the adipose application was a redirection of that method.
Because it acts on the blood supply rather than on adipocytes, Adipotide behaves quite unlike the other compounds in this category. Research areas:
Adipose tissue vasculature and its dependence on prohibitin-positive endothelium
Targeted apoptosis and ligand-directed delivery as a general method
Primate and rodent studies of adipose mass, where the published preclinical work sits
Renal effects, which were dose-limiting in primate studies and are a documented part of this compound's profile
That last point is not incidental: the renal toxicity reported in primate work is one of the most significant findings about this molecule and is part of why it did not progress.
AOD-9604 and 5-Amino-1MQ act on adipocyte metabolism itself rather than on vasculature, which makes them the instructive contrast.
Certificates of Analysis are published for tested products and batches. A certificate is a batch-specific record: it reports what was measured, by which method, on a stated date, against a batch identifier. It is evidence about the sample analysed at the time of analysis, and it is silent on attributes it does not list and on what has happened to the material since.
The batch number is the field that connects the document to a physical vial. Where the identifier on a vial does not appear on a certificate, the certificate does not describe that vial, however thorough the analysis behind it was. Batch records can be searched directly, and the guides below explain what each field establishes and what it does not.
