Research Verification & Intent Policy
We sell for research and we act on what we are told. This page sets out what you confirm at checkout, what we may ask for on top of it, when we will stop an order — and, just as importantly, what we do not check.
What you are buying it for
Research, as set out in the Research Use Only Policy. That is the only basis on which we sell.
Not for administration to a person or an animal, not for self-administration, not for any therapeutic purpose — yours or anybody else's.
And not to pass on to somebody you know intends to do one of those things.
What the checkout asks you to confirm
Before payment, every order asks you to confirm the materials are for research use only and to accept the Terms.
Placing the order is that confirmation. It is a representation you make to us, and we act on it.
When we ask for more
We may ask for more information before accepting or fulfilling an order, where we think it is warranted. This is risk-based. It does not happen on every order.
When we do ask, it is for some of:
- What the research is
- The organisation, laboratory or facility involved, if there is one
- What these specific materials are for
- Confirmation of who you are
- Confirmation of the delivery address and who will take the parcel
What we do not require
Worth stating plainly, because the opposite is usually assumed.
You do not need institutional or academic credentials. We do not restrict supply to universities, hospitals or commercial laboratories. Competent independent researchers buy here and that is by design.
Not every customer is individually verified and not every order is individually reviewed. Where this page describes verification it is describing a right we reserve and use when it matters — not a step every transaction passes through. Saying otherwise would be the easiest lie on this site and the worst one.
When we will stop an order
We may delay, refuse or cancel an order, in whole or in part, where:
- We cannot reasonably establish what the materials are for
- We asked for information and did not get it in a reasonable time
- What we know points at a prohibited use
- The buyer has previously told us they intend to use materials that way
- Supplying would, or might, breach any law that applies
What happens if we do
Anything paid for the affected items goes back to the card or account it came from.
We may decline to supply the same customer again on the same grounds. We do not have to give reasons, and a refusal is not an allegation of anything.
What happens to what you tell us
Information given for verification is handled under the Privacy Policy, used to administer the order and to meet our compliance obligations, and used for nothing else. It never goes to marketing.
The research-use confirmation from checkout is stored with the order.
This page describes what exists
Our compliance controls are still being built. As we add them — structured research declarations at checkout, collecting purchaser type or intended purpose, documented review of individual orders — this page will be updated to describe each one at the point it is actually running.
Nothing is described here before it exists. A policy page claiming a control the business does not operate is worse than no policy page.
